The following portrait was taken of my great-great-grandparents Stella Ophelia Bowling and Amos Blakey Cunningham on May 30, 1894, their wedding day, in Collin County, Texas. Stella Bowling was the daughter of William J. Bowling and Mary Elizabeth Kennedy and Amos Cunningham was the son of Johnson Franklin Cunningham and Mary Anne Penelope Anthony.

Hello
I was searching for the Bowling family and stumbled upon this site. I also am descended from Benjamin Bowling and Mary Latham (as above post) and I am also confused now! LOL
Does this Stella Bowling fall under their lineage? We have a Stella Bowling too but our lines disagree further up the tree.
I would love help in sorting this out and seeing if this is indeed “my” Stella too =)
Thanks!
Jeanette

I am a decendent of Ollie Oscar & Lola May Bowling ( Faternal Grandparents). Curious to see if this may be my Bowling line…..Thanks
This Bowling line is descended from Thomas Bouldinge.
Look at Larry Darden Bowling’s web site…..
and ((( Bolling family association ))))) http://www.bolling.net/
Boulden, Bolling, Bowling, Boulden, Bouldin, Boling are the different spellings of the name.
DNA has been tested in this line…
It is not the Benjamin Bolling line-sorry!
I am a descendant of James and Charlotte Bowling of Haralson County, Georgia, they were my Grandparents and we have a very large family, very large. Just wondering if you had any ties to these Bowlings. There is a bunch of us! Thank you. Roy
Not sure, Roy. How long ago? My Bowlings were in Tennessee by the Civil War.
Hi, my name is Matthew Bowling from way down here in South Texas, my grandparents were Matha and Newell Bowling (fraternal). I am a wine and spirits consultant down here in RGV Texas and graduated with a history degree and realized how little I knew of my own family. I was curious so this is my start at digging in my spare time and I came across your site( very nice by the way). I am not sure if you are from my branch of the Bowling family but thought maybe you can point me in the right directions. Thanks so much.
Matt
Hi Matthew, I am not sure if there is a connection or not. Your grandparents’ names are not familiar to me. Do you by any chance know the names of your grandfather’s grandparents?
Dana, Does the name Mrs. G.B. Bowling possibly from Tennessee ring any bells. I had purchased a victorian styled box with that name and a date july 22, 1885 on it. It was Manufactured by Wilcox Silver Plate Co. est. 1867 in Meriden, Conn. I’m trying to find some background information on the Bowling family myself for some history to this box. Thanks
I’m afraid it doesn’t, but the state has a lot of Bowlings. I don’t think my particular branch were living in Tennessee any longer by 1885.
Hello! Stella is my Great Great Grandmother. I was named after my Great Grandmother Dessie, Stella’s daughter
Hi Dessie! I have a few pictures of Dessie on this site, and I am always happy to meet a cousin. Don’t miss Dessie’s letter to Johnson Franklin Cunningham either!
